Paul & Pat Ellis

Send a Note Start a Campaign

Paul and Pat joined ACTION in 1980, arriving in the Philippines in 1981. Paul taught metals fabrication for underprivileged youth until 1988. Paul served as the Field Personnel Administrator from 1988 until 1994. Beginning in 1994 Paul and Pat taught a 22-lesson course about practical discipleship counseling for pastors and church leaders on many Philippine islands. From 2007 through mid 2018, they conducted discipleship counseling training for small groups using a more extensive and effective format.

More recently, Paul and Pat distribute Life Application Study Bibles for pastors and church ministry leaders targeting those who do not have a study Bible. Included in the distribution was a seminar on how to use the features of this study Bible. They conducted this seminar on many islands throughout the Philippines.

Paul and Pat were also involved in helping local churches to effectively respond when their communities were hit hard by widespread natural disasters such as a 7.8 earthquake and destructive typhoons.  They also helped in mobilizing local churches to respond to a major raging fire that destroyed two large squatter communities.

The Ellises returned to their home base in Southern California in 2018, just thirty-seven years after they left. They joined ACTION’s international Member Care team as full-time missionaries. Their vision is to put their years of missionary life experiences to work by providing encouragement and counseling for other active missionaries of ACTION who in are in need of this kind of care.  After teaching biblical discipleship counseling for 23 years in the Philippines, it is now time for them to be available to ACTION’s global workers. Providing regular “Member Care” to cross-cultural workers can provide preventative care as needed to keep them emotionally and spiritually productive while they serve the Lord and others.

By praying for Paul and Pat, and donating financial support on a regular basis, you become partners with them in helping other missionaries stay the course.

Paul and Pat launched three adult children who are doing well. They are proud grandparents of six grandchildren.
