Philippines: BND Staff Family Emergency Fund
This fund is for emergency medical needs of Brand New Day’s staff’s family members.
Our current need is for the family of BND Founders Krista and Mervi. Their mother, Mercedes, needs urgent hernia surgery, and the estimated cost is anywhere from $2,000-$3,000 depending on how the procedure goes. (The surgery date is May 8th in the Philippines.) Their sister Trisha also needs her gall bladder removed soon (likely around the same amount), although she's currently under observation and treatment first for thyroid imbalance. In both cases, health insurance is not an option so it will be almost all out of pocket.
