Uganda: Ramona's Reach

Start a Campaign
NOTE: Ramona’s Reach is a partnering ministry with Action International Ministries (Canada).

Ramona’s Reach is a charitable organization that started in 2010, fulfilling the calling and passion of Ramona Reimer. Ramona felt a strong calling from God to go to Africa to help the less fortunate and underprivileged orphan children. Ramona was a passionate woman who died of cancer at the age of 26.

After Ramona passed away, her family as well as close friends decided to accept her dream for the less fortunate of Africa and continue to pursue it in her memory. She has passed the baton on to us, and amazingly doors have opened for us and people have felt called to help with the vision for Africa. Now, her dream has become our dream - the dream to help the disadvantaged of Africa.

Ramona’s Reach was given 5 acres of land to use to help the people in Pamora, Uganda in Africa. On our first trip to Uganda in March of 2011, we drilled a well for the people of Pamora.

Since that day, many trips have been made, and many different projects have been completed.

Including:

-Children’s home was built to house up to 64 orphans and disadvantaged children. This home still houses many of our sponsored children and is used for boarding children who attend the school.

-Two school buildings have been constructed, with the space to educate over 300 students.

-We have built a guest house in Pamora where our missionary couple lives.

-New playground equipment, swings / slides / merry-go-round

-Variety of sports programming for the locals

We dream of making the entire Ramona’s Reach project self-sustaining, which is why we have and continue to focus on projects that reflect this, such as:

-Created a soap making project that provides income for many people (approx 50)

-Started a tailoring (sewing) school with 30 students enrolled (2021)

-Planted a tree plantation. Once the trees are grown, they will be sold to provide income for the project.

-Planted many large gardens to provide food for the children, as well as to teach the locals how to garden
