Ukraine Camps

Every summer in Ukraine, evangelical churches take an active role in reaching the next generation with the good news of Jesus Christ through summer camps. Through games, sports, small groups, dance flash mobs, crafts, quality attention from Christian leaders, preaching, and age-appropriate teaching, children across Ukraine hear the gospel, many for the first time. 

Summer camps help local churches to connect with local youth and build bridges in a predominantly Orthodox country. By sacrificing their summer and serving in camp, young Christian leaders grow spiritually as they learn to serve others, share the gospel, and grow in their own relationships with Christ. While camp ministry has been complicated and modified due to active war in Ukraine, camps are an effective tool for churches to reach the next generation and integral to prepare the foundation for year-round ministries for youth. Whether it's coming from dysfunctional families or poverty, or being affected by the war and personally experiencing loss, every child looks forward to summer camp! Funds raised through this project will help fill the gap to cover the costs of food, transportation, utilities, facility upgrades, and any camp-related expenses for ACTION’s partners who are reaching the next generation in Ukraine.

Service in summer Christian camps is incredibly important and pleasing to the Lord. God truly works there, in the hearts of children! I can testify to this with confidence because I have been involved in this ministry from both sides: as a camper and as a counselor. As a teenager, I first heard about Jesus, His sacrificial love, forgiveness, and salvation precisely at a local camp like this.

It profoundly changed my life because God reigns in my life now, and I desire to serve Him. A Christian camp is a wonderful way to share the Gospel with children and teenagers through Bible lessons, games, personal conversations, and shared time. Camp is not about lectures or lessons; it's about seeing Christ in the people who tell you about Him. After camp, the connection with the children continues: there are meetings, groups, clubs: children accept Christ into their hearts! Especially now, during times of war, our children greatly need hope, love, purpose, and peace, which only Christ can provide.
